Northeast Ohio Cancer Risk Assessment and Surveillance Engine (NEO-CASE)

The Institute played an integral role in the creation of NEO-CASE, which links various data sources, including the U.S. Census American Community Survey and the Ohio Cancer Incidence Surveillance System (OCISS).

Our team developed the backend SQL database the links these datasets, as well as the front end of the interface in shinyR that allows visualization and use-friendly data generation.

Housed in the Case Western Reserve University (CWRU) Secure Research Environment (SRE), NEO-CASE was developed with support from the Case Comprehensive Cancer Center (Case CCC), a National Cancer Institute-designated consortium cancer center that brings together University Hospitals, Cleveland Clinic, and their networks with Case Western Reserve University.
