CICB-affiliated PhD candidates successfully defend their dissertations!

Two CICB-affiliated PhD candidates successfully defended their dissertations recently. Shiying Liu, Epidemiology and Biostatistics PhD candidate mentored by Dr. Dana Crawford, defended her thesis titled “Genomic and Immunological Determinants in Neurodegenerative Disease: Investigation of Parkinson’s Disease Severity and Alzheimer’s Disease Status in Multiple Populations” on February 26, 2025. Razaq Durodoye, Epidemiology and Biostatistics candidate and Medical Scientist Training Program (MSTP) trainee mentored by Dr. Scott Williams, defended his thesis titled “The Roles of Race, Ethnicity, Ancestry, and APOE in Late-Onset Alzheimer’s Disease” on March 5, 2025. Congratulations to both Drs. Liu and Durodoye!
