To the Case Western Reserve Community:
We write to share that the Jolly Scholar closed at 5 p.m. today (Monday, Nov. 9) after University Health Services learned that an individual experiencing COVID-19-like symptoms was recently in the restaurant. In accordance with Centers for Disease Control (CDC) guidelines, the Jolly Scholar will receive comprehensive cleaning tomorrow and will reopen at noon on Wednesday, Nov. 11.
Please note that anyone who was in close contact with the individual (as determined by CDC guidelines and consultation with public health experts) will be notified this evening regarding next steps, including quarantine and testing.
As a reminder, we ask all members of the university community to continue to monitor for symptoms daily and complete the health attestation form online. If you have symptoms, even mild ones, please do not come to campus—or, if already living on campus, do not leave your residence hall room.
Faculty, staff and students also must wear masks at all times on campus—except when alone in an office or other enclosed space. Please also maintain 6 feet of distance among one another, and regularly wash or sanitize your hands throughout the day.
Thank you for your efforts to keep our campus community healthy and safe.
